Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think it's a separate island somewhere to the west of Montreal however, the West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island, although this isn't the truth. Brugel developed on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. Her initial ambition was to be an actor, but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner weren't able to dance along with her. In an article in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. Once I outgrew male partners, that's when I gave up. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel, it was the encouragement by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her to take the step she wanted. The teacher was the one who suggested she audition as Anne in their annual school production. After a few auditions the role, she was chosen as the lead actress of Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel has been involved in more than 60 shows, smaller and large. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare instances in the initial season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian participant.
